Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to be good at pilates?

No. The class is built for every level, modifications are offered throughout, and nobody's watching you anyway. You don't need to be good at pilates, just up for it.

I've literally never done pilates. Should I still come?

Yes. First timers are totally welcome, as are the die-hard daily class goers. The instructor will look after you, and the room's too dark and too loud for anyone to notice a wobble.

What do I wear?

Something you can move in: leggings, shorts, whatever works. Grip socks if you have them, bare feet if you don't. Layers are smart, it's winter on the way in and a workout once you're there.

What do I bring?

A water bottle and a towel. Mats and music are on us. There will be a chance to grab a bite on the way out, so if you don't have tap and go, bring your wallet.

How loud is loud?

Loud. It's a DJ, not background music. The set softens for the cool down. If you're worried about the noise level, you're welcome to bring earplugs.

What time should I arrive?

Gates open at 6:00pm and the class starts at 7:00pm sharp. Come early, settle in and enjoy the DJ. Latecomers will not be admitted once the class is underway, for safety.

Where do I park?

There is free parking on site at Suma Park. Follow the signs from the gate. Allow a few extra minutes, it's dark by 6 and you'll want to find us, not the paddock.

Can I come alone?

Absolutely. Plenty of people do. You'll be moving to the same beat as 59 others within the hour.

What if I can't make it any more?

Your ticket is transferable to a friend any time before the event, free, through Humanitix or by emailing hello@burnandbeats.com.au . We don't offer refunds for a change of mind, but if we cancel and can't reschedule, you get every cent back. Full details are in the Ticket Terms & Conditions .

Is there food and drink?

Bring water for your class, but yes, there will be a snack or two available afters. It's not a dinner event though, so eat like you're about to do pilates.

Is the venue accessible?

There is step-free access, accessible bathrooms and accessible parking. Email us and we'll sort it.

Is it just for women?

No. Everybody's welcome on the mat: all genders, all levels, 18 and over.
