Who we are
This website and the Burn & Beats events are operated by Elissa Holloway trading as Burn & Beats (ABN 61 370 743 557). In this policy, "we", "us" and "our" means Burn & Beats.
We take your privacy seriously and handle your personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth). This policy explains what we collect, why, and how you can contact us about it.
What we collect
Depending on how you interact with us, we may collect:
• Your name, email address and phone number when you buy a ticket, join our mailing list or contact us
• Ticket and booking details, processed through our ticketing provider, Humanitix
• Health and injury information you choose to disclose in the participant waiver, so our instructor can run a safe class
• Photos and video taken at our events, which may include you (see Event photography below)
• Standard website analytics, such as pages visited and device type, collected through our website platform
We do not collect or store your payment card details. Payments are processed by Humanitix and its payment providers.
Why we collect it
We use your information to:
• Process your booking and run the event, including venue and safety logistics
• Send you event information you need, such as what to bring and where to park
• Keep the class safe, using any health information you have shared with us
• Send you news about future events, if you have opted in. Every email includes an unsubscribe link
• Improve our website and events
Health information is sensitive information under the Privacy Act. We only collect it with your consent, only use it for class safety, and only share it with the instructor running your session.
Who we share it with
We never sell your personal information. We share it only with the services that help us run Burn & Beats:
• Humanitix, our ticketing platform
• Squarespace, which hosts our website and forms
• Google Workspace, which powers our email
• Our instructor and event contractors, where needed to run your session safely
Some of these providers store data on servers outside Australia. Where that happens, they are required to protect your information under their own privacy commitments and applicable law.
Event photography
Our events are photographed and filmed, and this content may be used on our website, social media and marketing. The conditions of entry and photography consent are set out in our Ticket Terms and Conditions and Participant Waiver. If you would prefer not to appear in event content, let our team know on the night or email us in advance and we will do our best to accommodate you.
How we store and protect it
Your information is stored in the platforms listed above, each protected by access controls and encryption managed by those providers. We keep personal information only as long as we need it to run our events, meet our legal obligations, and maintain records such as signed waivers.
Access, correction and complaints
You can ask us at any time to access, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you. Email us at hello@burnandbeats.com.au and we will respond within a reasonable time.
If you have a concern about how we have handled your information, contact us first and we will work to resolve it. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The current version will always be published on this website, with the version date shown at the top.
